FAQs

If you’ve got tickets to anything at the world’s largest stadium, a hotel near Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, is the first thing worth sorting out. The ground holds around 132,000 people, and on big nights the whole Motera area fills up fast. The next few months are busy, with a huge concert, an ODI, and a Test match all on the calendar.

Diljit Dosanjh Aura India Tour, 21 November 2026

This is the one everyone’s talking about. Diljit Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour lands at Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday, 21 November 2026. It’s the India debut of his Aura World Tour, and he’s the first Indian artist to headline a solo show of this size at the stadium.

A few things worth knowing:

With a late afternoon start and an evening that runs on, it helps to have your room close by. You can freshen up, eat something and walk over without watching the clock.

Other Events Coming Up at the Stadium

Music isn’t the only draw. Two big cricket fixtures follow:

India vs Sri Lanka, 3rd ODI (day night), 19 December 2026. Part of Sri Lanka’s tour of India, and a Saturday match, so many fans make a weekend of it.
India vs Australia, 5th Test, 27 February to 3 March 2027. A five day game from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which means several nights in the city rather than one.

Dates for any event can be updated, so keep an eye on official ticketing pages as each one gets closer.

Planning Your Stay Around Event Days

Staying near the venue changes how the day feels. Here’s what to check before you book:

Distance to the stadium. Under 2 km means a short drive or a 20 minute walk.
Airport transfer. Around 30 minutes keeps arrival day easy if you’re flying in.
Metro access. A station within a 15 minute walk gives you another route to the gates.
Breakfast and food on site. Handy before a long day, and after the show ends.
Parking. Useful if you’re driving from Gandhinagar, Vadodara or elsewhere in Gujarat.

A hotel near Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad that ticks most of these saves you from planning every small detail on the day itself.

Getting to the Stadium From Motera

Here’s a rough guide from a hotel on the Visat-Gandhinagar Highway in Motera:

From the hotel area	Approx. distance / time
Narendra Modi Stadium	1.4 to 1.7 km, about 5 minutes by car
Motera Stadium metro station	About 13 minutes on foot
Ahmedabad Airport Road	2.4 km, about 5 minutes by car
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport	About 27 minutes by car

On event days, many people take the metro to Motera Stadium station and walk the rest. Leaving a little early gives you time for a bite and a relaxed entry.

Who Should Plan What

Business travellers combining work in Ahmedabad with an evening event should look at highway access and a proper desk in the room. For work trips with a match or concert attached, prioritise easy access to the road to Gandhinagar and the stadium, and a stay in Motera covers both.

Layover travellers with a night between flights or trains should focus on the 27 minute airport ride. For layovers under 12 hours, prioritise transfer time over everything else, and a Motera stay keeps you close to the airport and the stadium.

Families heading in for the concert or a weekend ODI need easy meals and short walks. For family trips, prioritise a restaurant on site and parking, since both keep the day calm for kids and grandparents alike.

A Practical Place to Stay

If you want one option that fits the list above, Mango Hotels – Tune, Ahmedabad sits on the Visat-Gandhinagar Highway in Motera. It’s about 1.4 to 1.7 km from the stadium and roughly 27 minutes from the airport, with room categories from Cozy and Comfort to Classic and Club. There’s a restaurant with buffet breakfast, room service, and parking for guests driving in. The mall next door has food outlets and a cinema for the quieter hours. Put its rate next to city centre options before you book, since you’ll also save on the ride to and from the stadium.

For the November concert, the December ODI or the February Test, a hotel near Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad turns a long event day into a short walk back to your room.
